Another Subway Series? by Aiden Moreno ’25

This season is one for the books. For the first time in 24 years, the New York Mets may face off against the Yankees in the World Series. The last time the Yankees and Mets faced off in a World Series was back in 2000, when the Yankees, led by Derek Jeter, defeated the Mets in five games. Can the Mets handle the pressure as they are down 3-2 to the L.A Dodgers led by MVP candidate Shoehei Ohtani? This Sunday in a win or go home match, the New York Mets will face the best team in the league the L.A Dodgers. As underdogs, they should be proud of where they are, but a chance to play for a World Series against the New York Yankees would be the cherry on top. Will our home team come through for the most anticipated game in baseball?

Let’s take a trip upwards to the Bronx. For the first time since 2009 the New York Yankees will be heading to the world series. After an effortless 4-1 victory over the Cleveland Guardians, we get the opportunity to bring the World Series back to New York. In this series Giancarlo Stanton takes home the ALCS MVP with his powerful 4 homeruns which led the series. Will New York see its first World Series Championship in 15 years? Is the drought over?
