On March 26th, our school’s cafeteria was transformed into a spectacular celebration of Eid, hosted by SASA (South Asian Student Association), MSA (Muslim Student Association) and MENA (Middle Eastern North African Culture Club).
From 3:40pm to 5:00pm, students and staff alike flooded the cafeteria for an evening filled with a wide selection of various foods and desserts, cultural activities and an overwhelming amount of community spirit.
At $6 a ticket, demand caused space to be sold out days before the event, proving how anticipated the event was.
The food provided was truly the highlight of the event.

Guests were greeted by 2 different types of kebabs, 2 different types of Samosas (a meat and a vegetarian) and a generous helping of deliciously seasoned rice. Food was so plentiful that, despite the sold-out attendance, everyone was able to enjoy seconds, and some were even able to enjoy thirds.

The dessert was perhaps just as impressive as the main course. Our hosting students provided a custom cake for the event as well as a crowd favorite Tres Leches that kept people coming back for seconds.

Beyond the food, the event offered an impressive lineup of activities for the attendees to enjoy.
The photo booth was a huge hit among students in particular, with custom props provided by the student hosts that amply entertained the guests.

The Henna booth drew lines of students who were eager to leave with stunning designs from other students.

The trivia booth kept the competitive spirit alive in the event, bringing laughs and friendly rivalries alike.
Perhaps the most meaningful, our hosts provided the community with more than a good time, with a large portion of the proceedings from tickets going to support those in need. Proven by last year’s Eid dinner, with the proceeds from ticket sales going to a well in Bangladesh, providing the gift of water. This year is no different, with a large portion of the proceeds supporting those in need.
